We Have a Kicker on our Hands

Step aside Vinatieri, your competition is about to make his debut!! I swear, this kid can kick with the best of them! Ever since our sonogram technician told us that our boy had both kidneys and could therefore participate in contact sports, I've dreamt of a brooding, tough guy football player. The way this kid kicks now, I am positive that he'll have a successful career in the NFL. Okay, so maybe not a brooding, tough guy, but what mother wants to see her little boy roughed up any given Sunday, Saturday, or sometimes Thursday? All joking aside, it is amazing how much movement I'm feeling and seeing! Sometimes he kicks, pokes or punches so hard that you can see it on the outside. According to the "experts", our little guy is approximately 12-15 inches long and weighs nearly 2 lbs. He packs quite the punch for such a little guy! On the Move!!

Last night marked the first time that Bryan was able to feel the baby move! Earlier in the day, just after lunch, the baby was really moving and my co-workers noticed the delight on my face as I held my hand to my tummy and relished the moment. One girl asked if she could feel him move and I was happy to share the moment. He powerfully nudged my tummy and she was able to feel him. It was delightful; however, I felt a bit sad because Bryan had not yet been able to enjoy this feeling. So, when it finally happened, I was tearfully excited for him! I'm sure we'll experience many more kicks, nudges, and tumbles in the months to come.

Baby's First Trip to the Beach

Baby and I spent 3 days in Clearwater Beach, FL for a work event in April. This was my first time donning my maternity suit and Baby's first time in the warm sun (I believe it was 85 degrees on this particular day)! As you can tell, this was also my first time in the sun in some time. We have another sunny trip planned in May when we'll travel to North Carolina for another work conference. Daddy can't make it, but I'm sure Baby and I will have a great time basking in the sun next to the pool...we'll work some too, of course!

So after viewing Katie and Kelly's blogspot, we decided to make our own! We want to share this blessed adventure with our friends and family through weekly updates, photos, and of course the baby countdown!

After sharing our lives together for 5 years, we decided to add to our happy family of five (us, two dogs and a cat). This latest addition will bring great joy and excitement to our already happy existence.
