Random Chatter

Tonight during dinner, I turned on the video camera to capture some of the random chatter that we engage in with Braylon. I must say, I couldn't have captured a better moment :)

Standing Tall and Proud

Macyn went from crawling on all fours one day to pulling to stand the next, literally! She sure is proud of herself :) Braylon, on the other hand, could care less; he'd rather read the new car manual!

Fancy Super Hero Drummer Boy

Braylon combines two of his favorites; dressing up and playing music!

Dressing Up

Braylon is really into dressing up lately. Here are a few shots of him in his favorite dress up garb. Doesn't he look fabulous?

Cool Tricks

Macyn is pretty proud of the fact that she is now mobile! She is scooting and rolling all over the place :) Here's a short clip of her army crawl which debuted this weekend.

Gabba Live!

On Saturday, Braylon and I took in the Yo Gabba Gabba Live show at the Midland Theatre in KC. It really was a fun time and Braylon was very sad to leave.
We had great seats in the upper level and there was just enough distance between us and the Gabba gang. We caught all the action, but didn't have to worry about them getting too close, which would've frightened Braylon a bit. We look forward to our next live show with Toodee, Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Plex and DJ Lance :)

Trick or Treat

Well, we had a week full of Halloween fun! It started with a little dress up in order to decide which costume to put Macyn in. As you can tell from the pictures, she loved both and was as cute as a button as a ladybug and a pumpkin. Needless to say, we kept both!

Braylon had a little fun dressing up too! He tried on sissy's costume a few times...

... but with some coaxing, he settled on the sock monkey and an adorable sock monkey he was!! We attended the kids' Halloween carnival at Stepping Stones on the 24th and Braylon had a good time with his friends and teachers.

Finally on Halloween evening, after much anticipation, we all headed out for a little trick-or-treating. Macy didn't last long, but Braylon didn't want the fun to end! He was so cute and polite. He would say "trick or treat" before they opened the door and then would say "please" and "I want this one". He really got a kick out of the "big kids" who came by our house. He was a good helper handing out candy and he never missed an opportunity to add a little loot to his bucket :) We look forward to next year when we'll be chasing two little ones down the block!

Sporting a New Do

It's amazing how a simple haircut can turn my little curly top boy into a handsome little fellow!

Day Out with Mommy

Last Friday, I took the day off just to spend some extra time with my little man. We decided to hit up the Gardner pumpkin patch for a change of pace and had a really good time! We talked to Sponge Bob and told him, and just about anyone else that would listen, that we "make a potty in the potty chair".

Braylon had the best time playing in the corn box, which he insisted on calling the "sandbox". Either way, it was super fun!

After some persuasion, Braylon agreed to ride the noisy tractor out to the pumpkin patch. Once on, he thought the tractor was pretty cool.

We even found a pint sized pumpkin! After our visit to the patch, we enjoyed some live music with Rockin' Rob and his sidekick, Jumpin' John. Braylon even entertained the crowd when he took to the mic to sing the "moo moos" to Old MacDonald had a Farm :)

We had such a great day! I could get used to this Mom's Day Out business :)

The Patch

This morning we headed out to Schaake's Pumpkin Patch to find the perfect pumpkin. Braylon was a bit grumpy (the cows were scary), but did manage to find a few good pumpkins. Macyn was a doll and enjoyed the pumpkin pickin' and picture posin'.

After nap, Braylon helped decorate his pumpkins with funny faces. He was still not interested in taking any pictures with them, but Macy was!

Tandem

In order to cut down on the time spent on our evening bath and bedtime routine, we've decided to try giving the kids their baths together. So far, it seems to be working well. Macyn loves to share the bath with Braylon and I think Braylon is beginning to warm up to the idea. Now, we just need a bigger bathroom so all four of us can fit in there comfortably. It usually takes both Bryan and I to manage bathtime.

Friends

Last weekend, we met up with a group of Braylon's friends from school and headed out to the pumpkin patch. These boys had so much fun!

Big Girl Bath

Macy is now taking baths in the big tub, sitting up. She loves all the freedom the big tub provides. She kicks, splashes and sometimes slips and slides all around. I too love bath time. Nothing beats naked baby giggles and bubbles :)

Boo Boo

This evening, while playing outside during our makeshift picnic, Braylon tumbled and bumped his head on our patio bricks. I think it scared me more than it hurt him. In fact, Braylon was more concerned about dropping his snake.

Park Play

On Sunday, the kids and I headed downtown to the Festival of Cultures where we enjoyed live dancing and music from around the world. After grabbing some homemade tamales to take home for dinner, we headed across the street to the park. Braylon has become quite independent and adventurous. He has no fear and this terrifies me!

He loves to climb the stairs all on his own and shimmy down the slide head first.

He also loves to look for "buggies" and butterflies. He thinks he's spotted one in this flower bed.

We are looking forward to a visit to the pumpkin patch soon. This weather makes for great outdoor fun. Stay tuned for more adventures!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

This was the scene from the parking lot as we sought shelter during the storm delay at the K-State football game on Saturday. Yes, we made the hour drive, stood in line to get in, sat in the stadium for 15 minutes, then left. Well, we left and went to Rock-a-Belly Deli of course:) That storm couldn't keep us from filling our tummy's with the Belly Buster and pastrami on wheat!

Macy borrowed Braylon's hat when it started to sprinkle. Her little bald head needed the extra coverage :)

Silly Brother

Macy absolutely adores her big brother. She thinks he's pretty silly too! It seems he can do just about anything and she giggles! These two are bound to have a few good laughs in the years to come :) You may need to adjust your volume to hear the wonderous giggles!

Congratulations Aunt Sarah

This weekend we traveled to Omaha for my best friends wedding. Grandma Jean traveled with us and helped out with the kids while I tended to the bride. She kept things under control and was a huge help, although Mommy and the kids were a bit out of sorts at times :)

Braylon was really happy to see Aunt Sarah. He hugged her and wouldn't let go! We had a great time and were glad to celebrate with Sarah and Kris. We couldn't be happier for two wonderful people! Enjoy Mexico :)

The Help

Braylon loves to "help" in the kitchen. This kitchen helper is great! It allows him to see and reach the counter so he can really help, but keeps him safe from falling. The only bad thing is, it allows him to see and reach the counter so he can really help!! He really likes to help prepare meals and is very fond of the pepper mill. He puts pepper in everything, even waffles :)

On this particular day, he was trying to help clean Macy's bottles. As you can see, he was getting more water on the floor than in the sink. Oh well! Gotta love his big heart for wanting to help :)

Zoo Part Deux

Today was such a beautiful day, so the kids and I took in the Topeka zoo for the second time this Summer. Braylon was a bit more independent and adventurous this time around. He wanted to walk by himself, rather than cruise along in the stroller. Much to my surprise, we did fairly well and were able to see everything in just under 2 hours.

Nearly all of the animals were out and about enjoying the nice weather; we got some great, up close looks. The exception was the mama giraffe and baby Hope. Hope is still wearing casts; however, it was posted that she is now wearing soft casts and is building strength in her hind legs. She was really playful and bouncing around today. For her protection, they have baby Hope and her mother separate from Daddy, so they were inside today.

We don't know this little guy, but he and Braylon hit it off at the tiger exhibit and were instant friends. I felt like I needed to set up a play date for another day, they were having such a good time together!

This grumpy guy, on the other hand, didn't seem to enjoy our company!

The orangutan on top was playing peek-a-boo with Braylon. He would literally hide his face and then peek out from behind it. Braylon thought it was so fun :) We really had the best time! The zoo never gets old!!

Wildcat Saturday

Macy sported her little K-State bloomers and dress in support of the Cats today. She's seems pretty happy in purple :)

Despite my best efforts to get him to wear his Cats shirt like Daddy, Mommy and Sissy, Braylon opted to wear his underwear on his head :) Silly boy!
