It's been a few weeks since I've posted anything, so I thought I'd post an update on recent happenings.
Now that all the snow has melted from our backyard, we've been able to enjoy some time outdoors. Braylon really doesn't mind getting bundled up. Actually he'd like to go outside more than we let him. We try not to get out unless it's sunny and atleast 40 degrees.
A few weeks ago, Braylon attended his first K-State basketball game. We had awesome seats and even got to see Willie the Wildcat up close. Braylon was pointing at him and seemed excited to see him until he came right up to him and tried to get a "high five". Braylon freaked out and started to cry. From that point on, Braylon would cringe if Willie ventured even a foot away from his normal sideline position. Here's a great shot from our seats!
On Friday, I received a call from Braylon's teacher reporting that Braylon had been bitten by another tot. I was not overly concerned as I understand this will happen. In fact, my first question was, "What did Braylon do to provoke this?" When I picked him up from school this is what I found. A bite, smack dab in the middle of his forehead. I have to say, I've never seen that before. I'm guessing some little girl was moving in for a kiss and Braylon reacted negatively, so she bit him! Lance said that B didn't cry at all, although from the looks of it and from the scar he still has, it seems likely that it did hurt a bit :)
Finally, Braylon has become quite the ham. He has experimented with making faces and this is one of our favorites.

Little Wonders
On this foggy Sunday afternoon, Braylon and I headed over to Wonderscope Children's Museum. It was great fun! There are so many fun things to do and we didn't get to all of them in the hour and a half we were there. But here are a few pics of some of our favorites so far. In the Small Wonders room, Braylon enjoyed the Lego's and slide the most.
With some prompting, he managed to hop aboard the captain's deck and steer the ship. If I were on this ship, I'd definitely be sea sick based on the number of times he spun that wheel!
He also really enjoyed this trinket wall. It has all sorts of buttons, spinners, and textures to explore.
His favorite room by far was the ball room. He loved gathering his own bucket of golf balls and sending them down the many chutes, mazes and funnels spread throughout the room. He particularly liked watching the balls whirl down this big funnel. Braylon had a hard time leaving this wonderful place, but I promised we would visit again soon!

Little Monkey Bizness
In an attempt to fight the cabin fever we had experienced the previous week, Braylon and I ventured over to Shawnee Mission on Sunday to monkey around. It's a drive, but well worth it. Everything at this place is toddler size and Braylon is able to really enjoy himself. He's rather fond of this little tree house and will spend a lot of his time inside, tinkering with the toys, spinners and noisemakers.
His little friend, Cooper showed him the ropes the first time we visited and now he's able to climb up to the slide and go down all by himself. As you can see, he's trying really hard to get situated in order to go down on his bottom.
He had a lot of fun climbing through the maze to retrieve the balls Mommy tossed inside for him to find. In this pic, he's signing "ball" to a dad outside the maze in an attempt to get him to toss a ball to him.
We've been twice now, and both times, we've unexpectedly run into Cooper and his mom, Katie. We'll have to be more thoughtful and plan ahead next time, so the boys can spend a bit more time together. It's been a great place to visit to beat cabin fever or to just enjoy some time together. We'll definitely be going back again soon!

Dinosaur Book
Braylon has this great dinosaur pop-up book that he likes to read. There is one page with a T-rex that he avoids because the dinosaur pops out at you with his big teeth! Here's a video clip of him reading this book.
