Last week, the kids' school had a space day competition between classrooms. It was super fun and the staff did an amazing job decorating and getting the kids involved. Board members were judges for the event and I was able to judge in Bryan's place since he was unable to. Each room had a theme with the kids dressed accordingly and had fun games and activities planned for the day. Here are a few pics of Braylon and Macy as they participated in Space Day!!
Macyn's class were the astronauts in training for the Mission to Milestone Moon. Here she is in her NASA suit with her little jet pack on!
Braylon and his classmates were the Astronaut Tots. They all took pictures with their space helmets on. I thought the whole center looked great and all the kids were having a great time. This is just one of the reasons we love Stepping Stones!

Bath Time
Macy is really starting to enjoy bath time. We keep them short and sweet, but while she's in the tub, she kicks, splashes, and smiles!
My favorite part is right after bath, when I get to lotion her little buns and thighs while she's snug in her towel. I think she likes it too!
If she's up for it, she'll get some time to play around in her jammies. Most of the time, she's ready for bed right after bath, but on this particular evening she enjoyed some tummy time. She's rolled over a few times already, but I have yet to capture it on video. I keep trying, but she won't perform on demand; imagine that :)

Omaha Zoo
Bryan and I decided it would be fun to take the kids on a short road trip to the Omaha zoo. We invited our friends, Greg and Sara to bring their little guy, Briggs along as well. We all made the trip and enjoyed a day at the zoo!
Our favorite part was the jungle. It was just amazing; we really felt like we were in the jungle. There were monkeys, birds, fish, hippos and many many more amazing animals to see in the jungle.
We also really liked the aquarium, although Braylon thought the sharks were "cary". And, they were!! As you can see, the big fish swim right over your head, flashing their gnarly teeth!
Braylon really liked that he could pet some of the animals. He also wanted to ride them. This little giraffe was just the right size!
After four hours of animal fun, we were all exhausted and ready for a nap. This bear had the right idea! We let the little ones rest and then it was time for more fun!
The big boys took the little boys for a dip in the pool to end the day! They had a lot of fun splashing around. By the end of the day, we had two sleepy boys, one tired baby girl and four worn out parents. We've decided that we MUST get together more often!

A Yo Gabba Gabba Birthday
Because Braylon is a Yo Gabba Gabba fanatic, I decided to invite these adorable little characters into our home for his birthday celebration. We kicked off the celebration with a party at Braylon's school. He and his little friends enjoyed cupcakes during snack time. Braylon was nice enough to share with Daddy too!
I spent a week preparing for the big day, making little Gabba cutouts and party decorations. I threw the cake together the day of and was pleased with the way it turned out. Muno is Braylon's favorite character.
Our little man got so many great gifts. Some of his favorites were a trike, kitchenette, pots, pans and utensils and ice cream shoppe supplies. As you can tell from Brobee's (the little green guy) expression, opening gifts was rather exhausting! I think he must have passed out :)
This little Kettler trike is great. It has a handlebar for parents to help push with ease and much to Bryan's dismay, has a little bell which Braylon absolutely loves! He hops on, rings his bell and says "bye bye".
After Braylon blew out the candles, we all enjoyed some cake and ice cream. All that's left of Muno now is part of his eye and the top of his head :) Sorry Muno!
We were happy that our families made the long trip to help us celebrate two years with our special little boy. We are blessed to have such great people in our lives. Thanks again for everything!

Slide and Splash
I think these things were called "wet bananas" when I was a kid. Atleast, the one we had was; it was really long and yellow. Braylon wasn't exactly sure how it worked. He ran across it first with his snack in hand, but soon figured out that this didn't work for a number of reasons. For one, his snack got soggy and who likes soggy gold fish? Secondly, you can slip and fall on your bottom while running across slippery surfaces. Finally, it's much more fun when Daddy throws you down the slide and you go really, really fast!!

Independence Day
This year our fourth of July celebration was marked by rain, rain, and more rain. Actually, the day started off well with a neighborhood parade with the Prier clan. We had such a big group (2 wagons, 2 bikes and 2 babies), I barely fit us all in! Sorry for chopping your head off Bryan :)
Boy what a difference a year makes. Check out last year's pic of Braylon and Riley riding in the wagon together!
Plus, each family has a new addition. Zoe slept through most of the parade, while Macy enjoyed her ride from Daddy!
Braylon hammed it up in his Uncle Sam hat and he tooted his horn with pure joy!
Following the parade, we headed downtown for the kids' bike races. Tristan was in the first heat and won! Jason ran after him the entire way and never lost a drop of that diet coke!! Way to go Jason and Tristan!
Next, we hit the bounce houses and swing, grabbed some lunch and then headed home for a little nap. After nap, and between rain showers, Braylon and Bryan broke out the snap pops. Braylon really got a kick out of the snappers. He liked stomping on them to make them pop. (Another pic minus Bryan's head :)
And then, just as Bryan was getting back from a firework run, the rain came. It came down hard! Braylon and I were out in the garage watching the neighbors shoot off fireworks when it started. Needless to say, we didn't get out in that rain to shoot off our own fireworks. Turns out, Braylon doesn't really like anything but the snappers anyway.
Although it was dreary and wet, all was not lost. Braylon and I rescued a tiny frog who was washed into our garage. We gave him a temporary home and then released him in the backyard. I hope the little guy made it :)
