Boo Boo
This evening, while playing outside during our makeshift picnic, Braylon tumbled and bumped his head on our patio bricks. I think it scared me more than it hurt him. In fact, Braylon was more concerned about dropping his snake.
Park Play
On Sunday, the kids and I headed downtown to the Festival of Cultures where we enjoyed live dancing and music from around the world. After grabbing some homemade tamales to take home for dinner, we headed across the street to the park. Braylon has become quite independent and adventurous. He has no fear and this terrifies me!
He loves to climb the stairs all on his own and shimmy down the slide head first.
He also loves to look for "buggies" and butterflies. He thinks he's spotted one in this flower bed.
We are looking forward to a visit to the pumpkin patch soon. This weather makes for great outdoor fun. Stay tuned for more adventures!

Rain, Rain, Go Away
This was the scene from the parking lot as we sought shelter during the storm delay at the K-State football game on Saturday. Yes, we made the hour drive, stood in line to get in, sat in the stadium for 15 minutes, then left. Well, we left and went to Rock-a-Belly Deli of course:) That storm couldn't keep us from filling our tummy's with the Belly Buster and pastrami on wheat!
Macy borrowed Braylon's hat when it started to sprinkle. Her little bald head needed the extra coverage :)

Silly Brother
Macy absolutely adores her big brother. She thinks he's pretty silly too! It seems he can do just about anything and she giggles! These two are bound to have a few good laughs in the years to come :) You may need to adjust your volume to hear the wonderous giggles!

Congratulations Aunt Sarah
This weekend we traveled to Omaha for my best friends wedding. Grandma Jean traveled with us and helped out with the kids while I tended to the bride. She kept things under control and was a huge help, although Mommy and the kids were a bit out of sorts at times :)
Braylon was really happy to see Aunt Sarah. He hugged her and wouldn't let go! We had a great time and were glad to celebrate with Sarah and Kris. We couldn't be happier for two wonderful people! Enjoy Mexico :)

The Help
Braylon loves to "help" in the kitchen. This kitchen helper is great! It allows him to see and reach the counter so he can really help, but keeps him safe from falling. The only bad thing is, it allows him to see and reach the counter so he can really help!! He really likes to help prepare meals and is very fond of the pepper mill. He puts pepper in everything, even waffles :)
On this particular day, he was trying to help clean Macy's bottles. As you can see, he was getting more water on the floor than in the sink. Oh well! Gotta love his big heart for wanting to help :)

Zoo Part Deux
Today was such a beautiful day, so the kids and I took in the Topeka zoo for the second time this Summer. Braylon was a bit more independent and adventurous this time around. He wanted to walk by himself, rather than cruise along in the stroller. Much to my surprise, we did fairly well and were able to see everything in just under 2 hours.
Nearly all of the animals were out and about enjoying the nice weather; we got some great, up close looks. The exception was the mama giraffe and baby Hope. Hope is still wearing casts; however, it was posted that she is now wearing soft casts and is building strength in her hind legs. She was really playful and bouncing around today. For her protection, they have baby Hope and her mother separate from Daddy, so they were inside today.
We don't know this little guy, but he and Braylon hit it off at the tiger exhibit and were instant friends. I felt like I needed to set up a play date for another day, they were having such a good time together!
This grumpy guy, on the other hand, didn't seem to enjoy our company!
The orangutan on top was playing peek-a-boo with Braylon. He would literally hide his face and then peek out from behind it. Braylon thought it was so fun :) We really had the best time! The zoo never gets old!!
