Reflections

As I reflect back on the past few years as a mom, I am truly humbled. I have two healthy, beautiful and amazing children who I love and adore. As I shuffled through our pics to find the perfect picture of me with the kids, I found this one and couldn't resist posting it. I believe I was 6 mos pregnant with Macy at the time and Braylon was 17 months old.


This one of Braylon and I was taken on his first birthday. I think we were just checking out the ducks on a nearby pond when Lance snapped this photo.


This one of Macy and I is also one of my favorites! She is such a happy girl :)


I am so blessed to be Mom to Braylon and Macyn. Time goes by so quickly, it's nice to take a moment to reflect back on all the wonderful memories we've made in such a short time.

9 Years

We took these vows 9 years ago on May 4, 2002:

I take you to be my wife/husband,

Easter Weekend

I'm a few weeks behind, but wanted to share some shots from Easter weekend and the big egg hunt. Actually, we tried to attend a big egg hunt, but because I didn't plan ahead, we missed out. The Baldwin train depot had a train ride and huge Easter egg hunt, but when we arrived for the final train, we were told they were sold out. Braylon was a little disappointed, but really handled it well. So, we decided to get ice cream and hunt eggs at home.


Braylon helped dye and decorate the eggs while Macy napped. Then, the hunt was on! Braylon was so determined to find each and every egg. You can tell by the look on his face that he took this seriously :)

Macy wasn't too interested in the eggs other than throwing them on the ground, so she played with the water toys instead! Watch out, she's got the soaker!

Spring Pictures

Bring on the Sunshine

Last weekend, we broke out the pool and other water toys. It was near 90 degrees all weekend, so we really enjoyed our outdoor and water time! Macy absolutely loves the water and will splash, slide, and dip her face in without hesitation.

This was the first time that Braylon experienced wearing his suit without a swim diaper on and he complained that it felt funny, so he ditched the suit and preferred to swim naked :)

My mom and nephew were up for the weekend and Braylon was especially excited to have a big kid to play with. He and Devin played nicely with the soakers...most of the time!

While Devin and Macy were troopers for the group photo, Braylon was his usual ornery self and refused to sit still; rather, he practiced shooting bugs with the soaker!

More Spring Fun

We took the kids to the Topeka Zoo on Sunday. Unfortunately, many of the animals were still inside because their habitats were not Spring ready. We did get to see a few things, but most importantly we enjoyed one another and the warm weather. Plus, this was Macy's first time to really participate and view the animals. She chatted with the otters and waved at the birds in the Tropical Rainforest, while Braylon got an upclose look at a blue frog.
