Christmas Celebrations

The Ramsay clan spent time in Southwest Kansas over the holiday and managed to miss the snow that hit Lawrence. Braylon had a fantastic time and ate up all the attention. He didn't care much for the unwrapping, but loved all the gifts he received. We were lucky enough to spend some time with all of our families. We first spent a few hours at my grandparents home with my dad and his family, brother and his family, and sister and her son. Here's Braylon with his Grandpa Grady. What a goof!

On Thursday, we spent the day at Bryan's parents'. Braylon loved the new books he got and enjoyed reading them with his Grandma Jean.

Braylon absolutely loved his cousins, especially his pal Madison. She was a little mother to him the whole time we were there. They had the best time together and we joked we would be bringing Madi home with us!

On Friday, we had lunch with the my family, the Schweizer clan, and then spent some time with my mom and family that evening. Braylon had had a long day and was a bit cranky, but we did manage to get him to smile for a picture with Grammy Jo.

On Saturday, Bryan's granddad and aunt came for lunch before we made the trip back to Lawrence. We snapped a few pics of the four generations of the Ganson/Malone/Ramsay family. Here are Braylon's great granddad Arthur, Bryan, Bryan's mom, Jean and Braylon.

We were happy to spend time with everyone and celebrate Christmas with them. We are blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!

Snow Day

Braylon enjoyed his first experience with the white stuff. He also didn't seem to mind the process of getting bundled up!

Ho Ho Ho

Stepping Stones, Braylon's school, had a pancake feed and visit from Santa last weekend. After some yummy pancakes, we thought we'd give the big fellow a go. Braylon was a bit unsure of the jolly old man, but did give him "five". He got a sucker in return. We sure hope Santa will visit us again come Christmas Eve!

Who's He Look Like?

Recently, I've had many people ask me who Braylon looks like. Here's my answer...

Happy Thanksgiving

We made the long trip to SW Kansas for the Thanksgiving holiday. It was great to see our families and spend some time with those we don't often see. Braylon was able to enjoy the company of his cousins this year. Here he is with his cousin, Devin.

We spent Thanksgiving day at my grandparents home. Here we are with Braylon's Great Grandpa and Grandma Cook.

It was such a gorgeous day, we spent the majority of the time outdoors. Braylon loved watching the big kids play football and even managed to steal the ball a time or two. Daddy was charged with the responsibility of chasing after him!
On Friday afternoon, we visited Bryan's family. Braylon enjoyed his time with his Great Grandpa Arthur as they read books together. Like father, like son!

Outdoor Fun

We've been lucky enough to have a couple nice days this weekend. Braylon and I enjoyed some time outdoors this morning. He loves to play catch with any ball that is around. We kicked and threw balls back and forth for a while. Then he decided he would "make" something to eat with his shovel and tupperware. He would stir it up and then take a pretend bite.

After all of that play, it was time for a rest. He must have really been tired, because he napped for an hour and a half just a soon as we retreated inside.

Littlest Ramsay

I wanted to provide a quick update on my pregnancy. We've recovered from the "twins" scare and things are progressing well. Right now I'm 22 weeks pregnant, but am measuring a little under that, so at our next visit we may schedule another ultrasound if I'm still measuring small. This is just a precaution to double check due date and monitor the baby's growth. In addition, we'll be able to take a peek down under and hopefully determine the baby's sex. The more my pregnancy progresses, the more I want to know! I'm feeling boy, but will be pleased either way. I am starting to feel lots of movement which is always very exciting! Just like with Braylon, this baby kicks around most just before I drift off to sleep at night and right before lunch. Braylon is becoming more aware of Mommy's growing belly, especially my surfacing belly button. He is totally oblivious to what is to come, but gives my belly and the baby kisses and hugs. I have plans to get him a baby doll soon to begin to introduce the idea to him and his role as big brother. He is so loving to everyone he meets, I don't have any doubt that he will be a loving and caring big brother.

Go Cats!

We were fortunate enough to land some tickets to the KU vs. K-State game last weekend. Braylon cheered on the team to a Wildcat victory. He is now able to mutter an audible, "Go Cats!", complete with a fist pump!

Braylon enjoyed the company of another little tailgater, Cooper. The pair ambushed the coloring party of two little girls and took over the crayons. Cooper was nice enough to share his Grandpa Tom's bus with us to get a break from the sun and share his markers and gold fish.

The day was wonderful all the way around... beautiful weather, good friends, and a Wildcat win!

The War is On!

In preparation for the Sunflower Showdown, we dressed Braylon is K-State gear for school this week. This is how cute and happy he was this morning before he left for school. Most of the staff at Stepping Stones are KU fans and don't necessarily appreciate our K-State pride, so they're always turning his shirts inside out or doing some other silly things to his K-State flair. Today, they went a little too far and Braylon was not happy about it as you can see!

Halloween

Our Halloween festivities began with the traditional pumpkin carving. Braylon helped clean out the pumpkins, while Bryan and I each carved one. Bryan's Powercat pumpkin turned out great! I'm not sure it was such a big hit with all of our trick-or-treaters, but we loved it!

Braylon sported his costume without a problem. He enjoyed walking up and down the drive way, looking for all the big kid trick-or-treaters. We only went to a few houses as most of our neighbors were out with their kids. But, we had a great time handing out candy to all of the ghoulish visitors we had.

Braylon got into some of the loot and picked out the candy he wanted and put it in his treat bucket. He really enjoyed the Reese's Peanut butter cups and Hershey's bars.

No Little Monkeys...

I had my heart set on Braylon being a monkey for Halloween this year, but he refuses to keep his monkey hat on! This is one of the only pics I could get of him in full gear. Because it was a constant battle to stay in costume, I opted to dress him as a cow instead for his Halloween Carnival at school.

We had a fun time at the carnival, playing lots of games and visiting the haunted room. Braylon was an ace as he threw bean bags at the halloween targets and bobbed for the winning pumpkin.

And, although we never won at the cake walk, he did come home with lots of little prizes. These gnarly sunglasses were a hit. They're pretty durable too because they are still unbroken.

Unless Braylon decides to cooperate with his monkey hat, we'll have to save the sock monkey costume for his little brother or sister to use someday. In that case, we'll take our cute little cow out to trick-or-treat on Halloween night.

Maple Leaf Festival

Braylon and I took a short trip south of Lawrence to the Maple Leaf Festival in Baldwin City. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed our time out of the house. While there, we rode the carousel and visited the petting zoo.

Braylon was really excited to see all the animals and he really got a kick out of feeding them. They had little scoops you could feed the animals from, but when he decided to bop a llama on the head with one...

...we resorted to hand feeding. Thankfully, the llama was okay and we didn't get kicked out!

Baby Ramsay

We had a routine OB appointment yesterday. While Dr. Hougham listened for the baby's heartbeat with a Doppler, she thought she detected two separate tiny heartbeats! Panic-stricken, we requested an ultrasound asap to confirm. We came back an hour and a half later and had an ultrasound which confirmed there is only one little Ramsay growing in my belly! She also took some measurements and determined that my due date is a bit earlier than we initially thought. According to the baby's size, I am 18 weeks along and am due on March 13, 2010. She tried to sneak a peek at the baby's anatomy to determine gender, but he/she would not cooperate. We asked her if she were able to tell, to write the results down and we would look if/when we were ready. I'm not sure that I want to know this time; however, Bryan is in favor of finding out. We'll see! For now, we are just happy to know that our baby is doing well!

Spooning

Braylon is working hard to master his self-feeding techniques. He's been using a spoon for a while now and does fairly well. He still loves to use his hands too, of course. I think it's because it's super fun to get so messy! Here's a short video of his combo moves while eating.

Holy Pumpkins!

The Ramsay clan visited Schaake's Pumpkin Patch last weekend and had a really great time! Braylon really enjoyed every aspect of the visit from the animals to the hay maze to the huge pumpkins we found in the patch. This go 'round was an improvement from our trip last year for sure! Here are just a few pics and clips from our adventure. Don't miss the video, at the end of the photos, of Bryan launching mini pumpkins from the pumpkin launcher.

Here's a short clip of Braylon hitching a ride in the wheelbarrow.

Wildcat Game Day

Bryan, Braylon and I attended the K-State game at Arrowhead Stadium yesterday with Greg, Sara, and Briggs. Briggs' Aunt Kelly and Braylon's Aunt Amber came too! It was a day full of excitement. New sights and sounds and, best of all, a Wildcat victory!
Braylon practiced his "touchdown" signal throughout the game and, fortunately, it came in handy a few times! It was a long day, but Braylon managed to snooze through half-time and part of the third quarter.

Briggs and Braylon enjoyed stretching their legs after the game. We've concluded that we need to get these little guys together more often!

Braylon loved being passed between Mom, Dad and Aunt Amber. Here he is hamming it up with Aunt Amber. We really enjoyed the game and the company of our friends. Of course, the Wildcat win was priceless! Go Cats!
