Big Man On Campus

Bryan, Braylon and I ventured to Manhattan last weekend for the K-State football game. We joined up with the Abbott's at their tailgate and enjoyed the game day festivities before heading in to the stadium. Braylon walked around like he owned the place! He had a ton of fans as evidenced by this picture of he and Bryan strolling through the parking lot.

And, of course, he just had to experience the Abbott's game day bus. Once inside the stadium, Braylon was a bit stunned initially, but he settled in and had a great time. He entertained the fans more than he watched the game!

Changes

So, you may have noticed a few changes or "additions" to our blog. That's right, "additions"! We are excited to share that Braylon will be a big brother very soon! We're not completely certain of our due date, but I've made my best guess based on timing of symptoms and date of confirmation. My guess and the doctor's opinion are within a week or two, so we agree we can expect our next blessing mid to late March. Once we have an ultrasound in a few weeks, we will have a better idea. But, for now, our baby ticker will read as if my due date is March 23, 2010. As with the countdown to Braylon's arrival, you will be privy to up-to-the-minute updates and news from my expanding belly. Stay tuned... things are about to get very interesting!!!

Clowning Around

It seems that Braylon gets into just about everything these days. He's pretty fast! He loves to get Daddy's hat and have us chase after him to retrieve it. He tries to put it on, but as you can see, has some difficulty :)

He did manage to get it on backwards and looks super cute if I do say so myself!

Riding the Train

Braylon and I took the Amtrak train to Southwest Kansas last weekend to visit our family. We left Lawrence at 12:30am and got in to Garden City at 6:45am. My parents left us their car, so we made the hour and a half drive to Manter arriving just in time for breakfast. On Saturday afternoon, we visited Great Grandma and Grandpa Cook and took a few pictures of Grandma with 3 of the grandchildren and 2 of her great-grandchildren.

We stayed with my Mom and were able to play with cousins Caelyn and Rylie on Saturday while their parents golfed. Braylon loved all the big kids and tried his best to keep up. He just loved sitting on Grammy Jo's fireplace ledge while talking on the phone.

We enjoyed our visit with everyone and the kids really seemed to enjoy seeing Braylon again, especially now that he's fully mobile. Josie and Wyatt chased him around the house, but we were able to slow him down enough to snap a few pics.

I think he's pinning down Uncle Wyatt in this shot!

We left for home Sunday evening, boarding the train in Garden City at 11:30pm and arriving in Lawrence at 5:45am. Boy, were we happy to see Daddy that morning! We all went home and slept for 2 more hours. It was good to be home.

Self Tanner Gone Wrong??

These pictures remind me of a self tanning experiment gone bad! Really, Braylon is enjoying some yummy spaghetti. He was a bit tired and had rubbed both of his eyes, smearing the sauce all over his face. Let me tell you, this kid is an eating machine. His teachers told me today at pickup that he was licking the last bit of food from his tray at lunch after he'd devoured 4 servings of chicken and noodles! He just can't get enough!
